Cabin

Erik Lindgren Pioneer Home
Cullaby Lake County Park
89990 Hawkins Rd.
Warrenton, OR 97146

We encourage you to visit the historic Lindgren cabin and sauna, now located in Cullaby lake park south of Astoria. Eric Lindgren, a Swedish Finn, built the cabin in the 1920’s. He constructed it with huge, old-growth red cedar and all the logs were hewn by hand with a broadaxe to a 6" thickness! It was dissembled and moved from its original site near Soapstone Creek in the Hamlet area to its present site in the 1960’s. During the weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day, volunteers from Finlandia Foundation Columbia-Pacific Chapter act as cabin hosts. There is no charge but donations are accepted.
